SO Hannah took the test to get her permit on Wednesday. Today was her first behind the wheel session with the instructor, so now her permit is valid and she can drive us around. Don't know if my heart will be able to take it, but she seems to be doing ok!

GeeWhiz, Nettie! Two postings in three days! You better watch out, or you might find yourself getting in the habit!...stranger things have been known to occur...
But really, I intended to comment on Hannah's driving - WOW! It just seems like a couple of weeks ago that I was riding with you up and down the country roads of Eastern Oregon, clutching the dashboard and trying not to holler as you ignored the stop sign at the botton of Douglas Road and Highway 201!! You're going to miss out on all that fun,the Rite of Passage that we all must go through but, realistically, you'll be MUCH HAPPIER...trust me. (I think riding with you three kids as you learned to tell the difference between the brake pedal and the accelerator shortened my life by at LEAST 3 years!) Hannah's driver's instructor earns every penny she's paid, I kid you not. That's a thankless job, to put it mildly.
Way to go, Hannah! Maybe Dad will let you practice across Nevada when you come up to visit in July?!!
Ah, those were the days, not! My husband was not able to ride with our daughter without yelling "We're all gonna die!" So I rode with her a lot. It is so great when they can start taking themselves places.
The instructor looks like a calm kind-of-lady. The first few years my mom used to hold onto the dashboard with a vise grip... then, one day I was driving her after she came home from a vacation visiting Jen in Oregon. No gripping the dash. I told her she was doing so well! She replied with, “Well, I figure if I was going to die in a car crash, it would have been with your sister driving.” Great... I guess! Progress is progree, right?
